Tuesday, July 5, 2011. LETS IT ALL HANG OUT. Went from mild to wild in under thirty seconds last night after unleashing his bountiful locks in a public display of long hair. Abel, who normally keeps his hair bound in a tight samurai-style top knot amazed onlookers when he revealed long, luscious hair that extended to waist-level. As Abel unfurled his locks and twirled them to and fro in the cool summer breeze.
Wednesday, July 6, 2011. Corpus Christi from Another Perspective. Cagli was celebrating its second procession of 2011. This time it was going to pass by the street where I happen to be living in. Neighbors, friends, everybody, get together for the event. Every detail is thoroughly taken care of, each square meter is filled with graphics, flowers and farina. Green leaves decorate the sides of the street, being this, the result of the conjunction of committed hands and meticulous minds.

Sunday, July 22, 2012. What is the deal with all this noise pollution? I understand that we are living in compact housing, the streets are narrow, neighbors are close, and all the stone walls and hard surfaces reflect noise of any kind. So have the tiny streets that wind in and out and up and do.
Saturday, July 13, 2013. The good fortune to advance. While I upped my Italian language skills, as an example, our study of culture has been much broader than applications within this single country. Organizations and institutions maintain and develop cultures, and I see tremendous beauty and strength in the diversity of cultures found in the United States. Even if I was unable to travel abroad again in my life, by interacting with different people, anywhere, my intercultural journey will continue.

Kinship on a mourning run. This is my tenth year of leading this study abroad program in Zambezi. During this past decade, the people of Zambezi have continually welcomed us into their lives. As we strive to practice accompaniment, we see more of the community, both the beautiful and the painful.
